MUMBAI: For the first time ever, viewers in India will get to watch eight Indian cricketers participating in this year's Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). 

Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma, Radha Yadav, Poonam Yadav and Richa Ghosh, who have also represented India in the recently concluded India tour of England and India tour of Australia series, will be playing in the WBBL. 

The tournament will begin on October 14 and will be telecast LIVE on SONY SIX channels as well as livestreamed on its on-demand OTT platform SonyLIV.

WBBL in new naming rights partnership, finals series revamped

From this season, the league will be known as the Weber WBBL, signalling the start of a new era of innovation for the world’s leading cricket competition for women. WBBL schedules Australia Day 2019 for 1st standalone final
MELBOURNE: The Rebel Women’s Big Bash League has announced that the final of the competition in 2019 will be a standalone one for the first time ever, which is likely to take place on January 26, which happens to be Australia Day and possibly as a lunch time fixture during the third day of the Day-Night Men’s Test between Australia and Sri Lanka in Brisbane, cricket.com.au reports.
