Indian Premier League franchises

Owners of top IPL franchises are trying to convince as many as six top England stars to quit international cricket and take up handsome annual contracts of up to £5 million in order to play T20 leagues round the year, a UK daily has reported

Almost all the 10 IPL franchises have branched out in various leagues, including CPL (West Indies), SA T20 (South Africa), Global T20 League (UAE) and the upcoming Major League Cricket in the US. 

There is also an ambitious Saudi T20 league in the works in which some of the IPL franchises might be investing.

MUMBAI: The "original eight" Indian Premier League franchises submitted their player-retention list on Tuesday ahead of the upcoming IPL mega auction in January. The franchises have been allowed to retain a maximum of four, while the two new franchises - Lucknow and Ahmedabad - can acquire three from the rest of the player pool before the January auction.

MUMBAI: Two Indian Premier League franchises - Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals - along with former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, on Thursday collectively donated Rs 100  million to procure oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients in the country as it battles a severe second wave of the global pandemic.
