Indian Cricketers’ Association

MUMBAI: The Indian Cricketers Association (ICA), the players' body recognised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India ONLY because it is meant solely for retired cricketers, is still awaiting funds from the BCCI to kick-start operations, Sportstar reports.

In October last year, the ICA had prepared an annual budget of Rs 150-200 million to run its affairs from a new office space in Mumbai. As of now, the members have been communicating via e-mails and phone calls from their respective locations.

NEW DELHI: Anshuman Gaekwad was on Sunday elected the male representative of the Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA), to the apex council of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Former India opener Gaekwad (471 votes) beat his one-time national teammate Azad (381) by 90 votes in the first ICA elections held between October 10 and October 13, PTI reports.

NEW DELHI: The Committee of Administrators (CoA) has formally initiated the process of forming the first Indian Cricketers’ Association by issuing a notice for all former cricketers in India - both men and women - to register with the BCCI through their respective state association.
