LAUSANNE, Switzerland: The International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the FIH Hockey Pro League participating nations Tuesday confirmed the venues that will be used for the fourth season of FIH’s global league for national teams - ‘Hockey at its Best’ – which will run from 28 October 2022 to 5 July 2023.

Odisha’s Rourkela has been added as the second Indian venue, besides Bhubaneswar, with the matches to be held at the stadium built to host the men’s World Cup in January.

BHUBANESWAR: The wheels to host the prestigious FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup India 2023 started rolling in as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday, December 24, announced a new world class hockey stadium in Rourkela city, which would be the biggest stadium for Hockey in India with a seating capacity of 20,000.  This is going to redefine the sports landscape in the region.

ROURKELA: After the success of Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup in 2018 and the scale at which it was hosted, FIH had announced last year that the 2023 FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup will be hosted in Odisha, for a second consecutive time, at two venues, Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
