NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

DUBAI: Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) announced Tuesday that UAE’s own exclusive Twenty20 league has been sanctioned by ECB chairman Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan to Dubai Sports City and will soon be held in the UAE.  The dates being considered are December 2021 and January 2022.

MUMBAI: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has written to the International Cricket Council (ICC) asking it to consider the financial losses less wealthy cricket boards have to incur when tours do not take place as planned.  The letter comes on the back of Cricket Australia (CA) pulling out of South Africa tour "at the eleventh hour", in which both teams were slated to play three Tests.

MUMBAI: The IPL player registration closed on 4th February with 1,097 players (814 Indian and 283 overseas players) signing up to be a part of the IPL 2021 player auction set to take place in Chennai on 18th February. The auction will begin from 3PM onwards.   The players list incorporates 207 capped, 863 uncapped and 27 associate players.
