NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Tuesday announced the entire schedule of the league stage for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 season starting 23 March. Prior to the dates of the Lok Sabha elections announced, the board had confirmed the schedule for the first two weeks of the competition uptil 5 April, which comprised of 17 matches in total.

LONDON: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday launched its inaugural cricket academy in the United Kingdom. The Royals have teamed up with the popular Star Cricket Academy in Surrey, against whom the likes of Sachin Tendulkar had played against at the age of 15 back in the year 1988. It has now been rechristened as the ‘Rajasthan Royals Academy’.
