NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: Sri Lanka Cricket chief executive Ashley de Silva has said the SLC board plans to send its junior side to Pakistan soon, and "the senior side would follow as soon as possible." The affirmation comes on the back of a successful Twenty20 match in Lahore played by Lanka for the first time on Sunday, after a gap of eight years.

MUMBAI: Former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) general manager MV Sridhar passed away in Hyderabad on Monday morning. Sridhar succumbed to a cardiac arrest, aged 51. Sridhar's passing away a little over a month after he resigned from his post of BCCI's general manager - Cricket Operations, having been in the position since 2013. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

TO RETAIN OR NOT to retain. It is the biggest dilemma facing Indian cricket now. With a decade over, one would think the Indian Premier League (IPL) would have got its act together. Especially on team composition. While it always maintained that the 2018 edition will see all players being thrown into a common auction pool, there are franchises that would like to retain important players.

NEW DELHI: The Committee of Administrators (CoA) has submitted the draft constitution of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, incorporating suggestions of the Justice RM Lodha Committee on reforms in the BCCI, to the Supreme Court on Monday. The apex court, after taking on record the draft constitution, adjourned the matter for further hearing to November 29.
