Sony, Natekar Sports to invest $10m+ in World Pickleball League

MUMBAI: India’s growing reputation as a potential racquet sports hub is all set to get a massive boost with the launch of the World Pickleball League (WPBL), the first-ever professional pickleball league, envisaged by Natekar Sports and Gaming (NSG) and Sony Entertainment Talent Ventures India (SETVI).

NSG, is a company promoted by ‘former Davis Cup star and Arjuna Awardee Gaurav Natekar and his wife, ‘Arati Ponnappa Natekar, also a former India #1 in Tennis. SETVI is a joint venture between Sony Music Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Fans will decide team name, colours: Beckham on his MLS team
MIAMI: Fans will select the name and colours of the Major League Soccer team scheduled to take the field in Miami in 2020, club co-owner David Beckham has said. NEW DELHI: Shubhranshu Singh, executive vice president and head Marketing Star Sports, has resigned from the organisation.  Singh's departure comes within days of Star Sports' new chief executive Gautam Thakar taking charge.   Singh had joined the company in December 2013 after a little over two years at Visa as marketing director India and South Asia.

Nazara takes controlling stake in gaming co Nodwin
NEW DELHI: Mobile games publishers Nazara Technologies Ltd has acquired a 55 per cent stake in Gurugram-based Nodwin Gaming Pvt. Ltd, a gaming solutions company and creator of e-sports events, through a cash-and-stock deal. Post acquisition, Nodwin will become an independent subsidiary of Nazara. The financial terms of the acquisition was not disclosed.
