The Pakistan Cricket Board has earmarked Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi as the three host venues for 2025 Champions Trophy, in the initial draft schedule of the tournament, sent recently to the ICC. 

The Champions Trophy, which was last held in England in 2017, is expected to be held tentatively in February-March next year, even as the PCB hastens plans to upgrade venues that will host the first ICC event in the country in nearly 30 years.

Four presidential candidates were up for election in the first round and no candidate received more than 50% of votes. A second round of voting was required between the top two candidates. NEW DELHI: The Hero I-League will start in the first week of January and not in December, after the West Bengal government asked the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to postpone the start of the tournament citing festive rush during Christmas and New year. It will be held in three or four venues in and around Kolkata, reports The New Indian Express.

LAUSANNE: The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has confirmed plans to send up to six athletes to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games as part of a Refugee Paralympic Team (RPT). The IPC will work with its commercial partners and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to create awareness of the plight faced by refugee athletes and send a message of hope to the almost 80 million forcibly displaced worldwide.

NEW DELHI: The BCCI is likely to back the candidature of New Zealand's Greg Barclay over Singapore's Imran Khwaja in the elections for the ICC chairman.
