Protesting wrestlers on Monday decided to take their “agitation global” by approaching Olympic medallists and athletes from other countries.

This follows the opportunistic silence of India's top sportspersons (barring a few honorable exceptions) on the ongoing protests seeking the arrest of former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP strongman Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accused of sexual harrassment by multiple women wrestlers

The wrestlers warned that if their demands were not heeded, a “big call” would be taken after May 21.

The country's top wrestlers on Thursday vowed to intensify their protest, saying the government has given them an assurance but not a "satisfactory response". The wrestlers said they will lodge multiple FIRs against Wrestling Federation of India president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh if the WFI is not disbanded immediately.
