NEW DELHI: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has confirmed that seven Indian shuttlers have been withdrawn from the YONEX-SUNRISE India Open 2022 after testing positive for COVID-19.

The players returned a positive result to a mandatory RT-PCR test conducted on Tuesday. Doubles  partners deemed close contact of the seven players have also been withdrawn from the tournament.

The players will not be replaced in the main draw and their opponents will be given a walkover to the next round.

BANGKOK: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced on Saturday that there will be no changes in the 3×21 (three games to 21 points) scoring system during any authorized match. The BWF Council’s proposal to change to five games to 11 points did not receive the required two-thirds majority during voting at the BWF’s annual general meeting in the Thai capital.

NEW DELHI: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) will formally propose a suite of changes, including around the scoring system and on-court coaching, "to enhance the sport" at its annual general meeting in Bangkok, Thailand on 19 May.  The formal proposals will be circulated to the membership on 30 March together with all other proposals received by 23 February.

LONDON: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) have announced global betting and gaming brand 12BET as an official partner of the TOTAL BWF World Championships 2017, which will be played in Glasgow, Scotland from 21 to 27 August. KUALA LUMPUR: BWF President Poul-Erik Høyer has been nominated unopposed to lead badminton’s world-governing body for a second successive term. When nominations closed last Friday, the 51-year-old Dane was the lone candidate for the position which he has held since the last BWF Council election in May 2013.
