NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

NEW DELHI: The T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind, organised by Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), was inaugurated in the capital Sunday at the KD Jadav Indoor Stadium, Indira Gandhi Sports Complex. Sports Minister Vijay Goel, who was the chief guest, has assured support from his ministry and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) to promote cricket for the blind in the country.

KANPUR: Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association secretary Rajiv Shukla and five other office bearers on Thursday stepped down from their respective positions following a  working committee meeting of the state unit here.  The resignations were a consequence of their being rendered ineligible as per the Supreme Court-appointed Lodha panel's recommendations.
