CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu state government has reportedly issued a formal letter of approval to the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) to conduct the fifth edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).

The official announcement to this effect is expected on Friday (July 2), and the T20 tournament will start on July 19, with the final set to be played on August 15, Cricbuzz, quoting TNPL sources, reports.

The apex court observed that the state cricket body has not fully adopted the new constitution of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), but it can certainly hold elections.
