PVL organisers announce Kerala state volleyball league

HYDERABAD: In a riposte to the Volleyball Federation of India, the organisers of the ongoing Prime Volleyball League (Pro Volleyball League rebadged for legal reasons) have announced a Kerala-based state volleyball league. 

The proposed Kerala Premier Volleyball League will consist of teams from the districts and will be organized in the second half of the current year. The announcement of the tournament was made ahead of the second PVL semi-final match on Friday.

PVL firms up launch date, host venues
MUMBAI: The long in the pipeline Pro Volleyball League (PVL) finally has a launch date and hosting venues. PVL will tip off on February 2, 2019 and will be played in Kochi and Chennai, with the latter hosting the final, league CEO Joy Bhattacharjya told Sportstar.

Pro Volleyball secures FIVB endorsement
NEW DELHI: Close on the heels of lifting the suspension on the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI), the Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Wednesday committed its support to the upcoming Pro Volleyball League.  In a letter addressed to VFI secretary general Ramavtar Singh Jakhar, FIVB president Dr Ary S Graca congratulated the VFI on setting up a professional volleyball league .

Baseline floats bid tenders for Pro Volleyball
NEW DELHI: The Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) and Baseline Ventures Monday announced the commencement of the bid process for the Pro Volleyball League, scheduled in the second half of 2018. The bid documents for prospective franchise owners of the league will be available from Tuesday, 15 May.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has sought the Centre's response on a plea for appointment of an administrator to hold fresh elections to the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) currently suspended by world governing body FIVB. The plea sought that the elections for the office bearers should be held according to the National Sports Code.

Baseline seals deal with VFI; targets Oct launch for volleyball league
MUMBAI: The Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) Wednesday announced a ten-year partnership with sports marketing and branding firm Baseline Ventures to promote and build Indian volleyball.  The agreement was concluded on the sidelines of the 66th Senior National Volleyball Nationals at Calicut with the core committee of the VFI in attendance.
