Red Bull confirms chief designer Adrian Newey to step down

Red Bull have announced that Adrian Newey is to leave the team, with the esteemed F1 designer departing after almost 20 years at Milton Keynes.

Newey joined Red Bull ahead of their second F1 season in 2006 and has been instrumental in the squad’s success over the years, helping to turn the operation from midfield runners and points scorers into Grand Prix winners and world champions.

Porsche exiting WEC LMP1; to compete in Formula E
FRANKFURT: Porsche Friday revealed plans for a factory-backed works team to compete in the all-electric FIA Formula E Championship from the 2019/20 season.  As part of a new strategy and realignment of Porsche’s existing motorsport programme, the German manufacturer declared it would be ending its involvement in the LMP1 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the end of the 2017 season.

Monisha Kaltenborn out of Sauber F1 team
LONDON: Motor racing's Sauber have parted company with Monisha Kaltenborn, the first woman to run a Formula One team, with immediate effect ahead of this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Kaltenborn has been team boss of Sauber since 2012, when she was given the role by founder Peter Sauber.

15th Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm rally flagged off
NEW DELHI:  The 15th Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm rally was flagged off from GIP Mall, Noida here on Sunday. The motley group of more than 200 enthusiasts will traverse from here to Jodhpur that will see them cover a distance of 2,000km in six days. Multiple winner Suresh Rana was the first one to be flagged off, so was Dakar rally finisher CS Santosh, who is defending his title in the Moto category.
