MUMBAI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which will host the World XI side in Lahore in mid-September for three T20 exhibition matches, will be spending big to ensure its success.
The PCB, which will spend an estimated $3 million on the series, says it is not looking at making any profits from it but is viewing it as a step towards the revival of international cricket in the country.
The board will attempt to recover costs from broadcasting rights, sponsorships and ticket revenues. Reports indicate that the board will be paying international players between $75,000 and $100,000 for the short tour.
No Test nation has visited Pakistan since the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus while touring the country.
