DUBAI: Former Sri Lanka player and coach Nuwan Zoysa has been banned from all cricket for six years after an ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code (read match fixing).

The ban is backdated to 31 October 2018, when Zoysa was provisionally suspended as an immediate action.

The tribunal found Zoysa guilty of:
Article 2.1.1 – for being party to an agreement or effort to fix or contrive or otherwise influence improperly the result, progress, conduct or other aspect(s) of an International Match.

MUMBAI: Bangladesh has initiated a crackdown on illegal betting during the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League. Police raids have been carried out at cricket stadia across the country, and at least 77 people have been 'thrown out of two cricket grounds in Dhaka and Sylhet in the past few days on allegations of betting during the BPL.
