NEW DELHI: In an unprecedented action, the Union government has chosen to deny visas to the Pakistani cricket team to travel to India for the T20 World Cup for the Blind. 

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) said that the team could not get clearance from India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

The tournament was slated to begin here Tuesday onwards, but with Pakistan denied participation, it has been delayed while a revised schedule is drawn up.

NEW DELHI: Acting on expected lines, the Union government has given in-principle approval for the Indian Davis Cup team to travel to Pakistan later this year. The two-day, three-match tie, to be held in Islamabad in September, will decide which team will qualify for the Davis Cup qualifiers slated for early next year.

NEW DELHI: After the Union government's grand ignore to a missive sent by the International Olympic Committee nearly two months ago, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has interceded on IOC's behalf and issued a fresh letter. IOA president Narinder Batra has written to Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, urging him to address the issue at the earliest.

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the formal hearing of Pakistan Cricket Board's appeal before the ICC's Dispute Resolution Committee, the BCCI has requested the Union government to formally convey its position with regards to Indo-Pak bilateral cricket series, which is on hold since 2012 due to political tension between the two neighbours.
