NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The Walt Disney Company webcast its Investor Day 2019 on April 11. The event included a presentation by Walt Disney Asia Pacific president and Star/Disney India chairman Uday Shankar. Shankar's presentation, largely focused around Hotstar, noted that Star's OTT platform has reached the 300 million monthly active users mark and detailed growth expectations of the network over the next five years.

MUMBAI: Australian pacer Mitchell Starc is taking legal action against his insurer to claim back the A$1.53 million ($1.09m) that he lost out on after missing the IPL last year due to injury. Starc picked up a calf injury in the second Test against South Africa last year before breaking down with a tibial bone fracture in the subsequent Test.
