NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Sunday said that the Indian team, sans the top players, will tour Sri Lanka in July for a limited overs bilateral series. Big names such as skipper Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma will not be part of the tour as they will be engaged in a marquee five-match Test series in England.

MUMBAI: Bangladesh territory media rights for international cricket hosted by the BCCI, as well as the remaining games for the ongoing 2020-21 season of the Premier League, have been secured by freshly minted sportscaster T Sports.  The media rights agreement was managed by Singapore-based digital rights marketplace Allrites, which sublicensed the rights from Star India.

ABU DHABI: Ten Sports Management (TSM) and Abu Dhabi Cricket (ADC) have announced the dates for the fifth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.  The tournament, which this year will be held over 15 days, will run from November 19 through to December 4, taking in the extended public holiday weekend scheduled to celebrate the UAE’s 50th National Day, which falls on December 2.
