NEW DELHI: Special Olympics Bharat has appointed former ONGC executive director V.K. Mahendru as its executive director.
In his new role, Mahendru will oversee all aspects of the organisation and management, while also serving as a mentor.

TOKYO: The organisers of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2020 introduced both the events’ mascots at a special naming ceremony in the Japanese capital on Sunday.
The mascots were decided following a voting process across Japanese schools globally and 75% of elementary schools in Japan between December 2017 and February 2018.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) confirmed on Friday that the Indian contingent for the Asian Games will increase from 524 to 551 as it will be sending teams to participate in the sports climbing and bridge events of the competition, Times of India reports.
Sports climbing will be represented by 3 athletes while 24 of them will be a part of the bridge team.

COLORADO: The United States Olympic Committee (USOC) on Thursday announced the appointment of Sarah Hirshland as its 12th CEO.
Hirshland is presenting serving as the chief commercial officer of the United States Golf Association (USGA). She will be replacing Susanne Lyons for the top job. Lyons was the acting CEO since February this year.
