ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

DUBAI: The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 generated a total economic impact to the UK of more than £350 million. 

The findings of an economic impact and benefits analysis carried out on behalf of the ICC by The Sports Consultancy show that the tournament generated almost £350 million of economic impact through additional money spent in the host economy by event visitors and organisers as well as business to business supplier contracts and broader consumer spend.

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC), cricket’s global governing body on Saturday rejected a plea mentioned in a letter dated 22 February by BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, which urged all member countries to end ties with Pakistan due to its state-sponsored terrorism. The Committee of Administrators (CoA) reportedly likened Pakistan’s isolation with South Africa being banned due to apartheid in the 70s and 80s.
