MUMBAI: India’s home season media rights holder Star India is seeking a Rs 130 crore discount on its existing deal, the current cycle for which ends in March. While Team India jersey sponsor BYJU's, which wants an immediate out from its sponsorship agreement, has reportedly told the the BCCI to encash its bank guarantee worth an estimated Rs 140 crore.

The BCCI top brass deliberated on these two matters at the emergent meeting of the Indian cricket board's apex council on Monday, PTI reports. It was a virtual meeting.

MUMBAI: The IPL 2018’s main broadcaster, Star India is planning to telecast the playoffs and the final of the tournament on its Hindi mass entertainment channel, Star Plus with the aim of expanding the tournament’s reach on television, as viewership numbers on the medium have reduced since the previous season.

MUMBAI: Vivo Indian Premier League host broadcaster Star India has declarbed that the total reach across Star TV network (in home and out of home) and Hotstar is 423 million fans for the first two weeks and is on track to achieve the 700 million fans targeted across screens for the tournament.  The 700 million fans target was an ambitious goal of adding 200 million fans across screens this IPL.

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has given its nod for temporary live uplinking of the IPL tournament's 11th edition, whose inaugural ceremony will be held on Friday. The development came after the Board of Control for Cricket in Indian (BCCI) wrote to Union minister Smriti Irani seeking her intervention in getting the nod for live uplinking of the IPL.

MUMBAI: Star India is now officially the one-stop shop for all big-ticket cricket played in India after the 21st Century Fox subsidiary retained its hold on BCCI rights for the next five years with a winning bid of Rs 61.381 billion.  Star's bid for the global consolidated rights to Indian cricket amounts to an average per match value of Rs 601.77 million for the 102-game BCCI FTP for the period 2018-2023.
