Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

BENGALURU: Global Indian International School has announced a special “GIIS Olympians Scholarship” for children of Indian sportspersons who represented the country at the recently concluded Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. 

This GIIS Olympians Scholarship  will be offered to children of any member of Indian Olympic contingent - including the 7 medal winners as well as those who represented India at the recently concluded games. This is the first time any child of Olympians can now study at any of GIIS schools in India.

LAUSANNE: The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee, the Tokyo Metropolitan government and the government of Japan Monday agreed new dates for the Games of the XXII Olympiad, in 2021. The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be celebrated from 23 July to 8 August 2021 (the same time slot scheduled for this year's Games).

TOKYO: The Olympic flame for Tokyo 2020 touched down in Japan early on Friday to start its 121-day Olympic Torch Relay journey around the country, bringing a message of peace and hope to the world. The flame was transported by a special aircraft “Tokyo 2020 Go” from Athens, Greece, and arrived at Japan Air Self-Defence Force (JASDF) Matsushima Air Base in Miyagi Prefecture shortly before 10am local time.
