The World Badminton Federation has awarded hosting rights for the next edition of the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals and World Junior Championships to Denmark and India respectively.

As already reported, Guwahati’s newly christened National Centre of Excellence will host the World Junior Championships 2025. As for the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals, they have been awarded to the Danish city of Horsens.

It is just the second time that Denmark will stage the BWF World Men’s and Women’s Team Championships following Aarhus in 2021.

SOUTH KOREAN badminton coach Kim Ji Hyun, who played a pivotal role in PV Sindhu's march to the world title recently, has resigned as India's women's singles coach citing personal reasons with less than a year to go for the Tokyo Olympics. The 45-year-old from Busan has rushed to New Zealand to care for her husband Ritchie Marr, who suffered a stroke a few days ago.

MUMBAI: PepsiCo India’s sports drink brand Gatorade has released a digital film to commemorate the latest sporting milestone achieved by its brand ambassador PV Sindhu.  The ace shuttler created history last week in Basel, Switzerland, by becoming the first Indian to win the BWF championship. Gatorade has been enabling Sindhu’s performance since she came on board as brand ambassador in 2017.

With total earnings of $5.5 million, Sindhu is tied for the 13th place in The Highest-Paid Female Athletes 2019 list released by Forbes on Tuesday.
