Netflix scores 3-season NFL deal, broadens live sports push

After its monster $5 billion rights deal with WWE struck in January, streaming giant Netflix has made its first significant move into "non-scripted" live sports. 

The NFL on Wednesday took another step toward its goal of making its games as widely available as possible by striking a three-year deal with Netflix. 

Netflix will be the global home of the NFL's two Christmas Day marquee games. The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the reigning two-time Kansas City Chiefs, while the Houston Texans will host the Baltimore Ravens in the two holiday games.

Poker Sports League plans auction for two new franchises
MUMBAI: The Poker Sports League is set to return for a second season with ten franchises, and an increased prize kitty of Rs 36 million. PSL will this year hold auctions for two new franchises. The original ten franchises have been locked in for the next eight years with a commitment to spend Rs1.5 billion. The prize money in the first season was Rs 15 million.

Indian fantasy sports regulatory body launched
MUMBAI: The Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS), a self-regulatory body, which represents 13 Indian fantasy sport operators was officially launched on 24 October in India. The registered not-for-profit trade body, has been formed to protect the interests of all Indian users by creating regulations for fantasy sports operators in India, says a report in the Asia Gaming Brief.

Toyam Industries to launch martial arts league
