HERZOGENAURACH, Germany: PUMA and Formula 1 have signed an agreement which will make the sports company the official supplier at F1 races, granting the brand the right to produce F1 branded apparel, footwear and accessories. 

PUMA will also equip F1 staff at track and create F1 fanwear that targets the sport’s different audiences with lifestyle and motorsport collections. The contract includes exclusive rights to sell F1 fanwear and fanwear of all ten teams around the race circuit starting 2024.

LONDON: The Sauber F1 Team have signed a multi-year technical and commercial partnership with Alfa Romeo, returning the Italian car manufacturer to F1 after an absence of more than 30 years. The deal will see the Swiss squad renamed Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team from 2018, with the car bearing the Alfa Romeo logo and being equipped with 2018-spec Ferrari engines.

MUMBAI: Formula 1 has unveiled a new logo, the first step in a complete brand redesign for the glamour sport being made after a gap of 23 years.  The design, unveiled after Sunday's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, sets in motion a process that will be completed in March next year ahead of the 2018 season opener in Australia.

NEW DELHI: Two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Hakkinen will be visiting Mumbai and Gurugram during the weekend. Hakkinen, who won his world titles in 1998 and 1999, is coming to India to promote Johnnie Walker’s don’t drink and drive initiative. He will be in Mumbai on November 11 and Gurugram the following day.

LONDON: The Chinese Grand Prix will continue to be a part of the Formula 1 World Championship for at least the next three years after a deal was agreed for Shanghai to host the race from 2018 to 2020.

FRANKFURT: Porsche Friday revealed plans for a factory-backed works team to compete in the all-electric FIA Formula E Championship from the 2019/20 season.  As part of a new strategy and realignment of Porsche’s existing motorsport programme, the German manufacturer declared it would be ending its involvement in the LMP1 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the end of the 2017 season.
