MUMBAI: Match No. 32 of IPL 2022 between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, which was shifted from MCA Stadium in Pune to Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai due to COVID-19 outbreak in the DC team, finally went ahead on schedule. 

The developments came even as a second overseas player of Delhi Capitals tested positive. This came just hours ahead of the team's game against Punjab Kings. 

New Zealand's Tim Seifert tested positive after a Rapid Antigen Test conducted on Wednesday afternoon, making it the sixth such case in the camp.

ZURICH: World football's governing body FIFA estimates that the negative impact of the disruption wreaked by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to be around $14 billion.     “The estimated impact of the disruption was around $14 billion,” Olli Rehn, who chairs the FIFA COVID-19 Relief Plan Steering Committee and who acts as FIFA Governance Committee deputy chairman, has stated.

LAUSANNE: The postponed Tokyo Olympic Games will go ahead next year "with or without COVID", the vice-president of the International Olympic Committee has asserted. John Coates confirmed to news agency AFP that the Olympics would start on 23 July next year, calling them the "Games that conquered COVID". They were originally scheduled to start in July 2020, but were postponed due to Covid-19 fears.
