The All Indian Football Federation announced the Premier 1 club licensing results for the 2024-25 season on Thursday. 

Punjab FC is the only club to have received a direct license.

Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 champion Mohun Bagan Super Giant and ISL Cup champion Mumbai City FC received the license with sanctions. Joining them in this category is Kolkata giant East Bengal, FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, NorthEast United FC and Mohammedan Sporting, which was promoted to the ISL after it won the I-League this season.

KOCHI: The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) plans to start an athletics competition on the lines of its national football championship for juniors, which got underway here on Wednesday. The athletics competition, likely to start by end September, will be held in 11 disciplines and Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kozhikode, Kolkata and Guwahati are among the cities which will host the event.

KOCHI: The Manjeri football ground in the football crazy district of Malappuram in Kerala will soon be getting a facelift. I-League aspirant team Gokulam FC, semi-finalists in the Kerala Premier League, had earlier secured the Kottappady ground in Ernakulam district on a year-long contract, but has shown its preference for the Manjeri ground.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) bid evaluation committee will meet on August 18 to decide which two of four applications from Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat and Rajasthan for corporate entry into the I-League from the 2017-18 season onwards will make the cut. Ozone FC from Bengaluru and Gokulam FC from Malappuram in Kerala are two of the four teams which have submitted the bid documents.
