Netflix scores 3-season NFL deal, broadens live sports push

After its monster $5 billion rights deal with WWE struck in January, streaming giant Netflix has made its first significant move into "non-scripted" live sports. 

The NFL on Wednesday took another step toward its goal of making its games as widely available as possible by striking a three-year deal with Netflix. 

Netflix will be the global home of the NFL's two Christmas Day marquee games. The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the reigning two-time Kansas City Chiefs, while the Houston Texans will host the Baltimore Ravens in the two holiday games.

Kho-Kho wins official OCA recognition
JAKARTA: After kabaddi, a second "traditional" Indian sport has won recognition from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).  The recognition was granted by the OCA at its general assembly meeting here Sunday, PTI reports. Kho-Kho will now be included as a demonstration sport in the Asian Indoor Games and stands a very good chance to feature in the next Asian Games event, official sources told the newswire.

Delhi selected host city for 2020 Shooting World Cup
NEW DELHI: The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) has confirmed that the hosting rights for the World Cup 2020 have been awarded to India with the capital to host the event.  The decision was taken at the ISSF’s ongoing executive committee meeting in Vienna in the presence of National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) president, Raninder Singh. State govt to move U'khand HC for lifting ban on adventure sports
DEHRADUN: Following on from the Uttarakhand government's cabinet on Wednesday passing a new adventure sports policy, the next move by the hill state will be to petition the High Court to revoke the ban it imposed on what is amongst its top tourist revenue inflows.  As per the new policy, stringent rules have been made to make rafting and paragliding safer in the state, finance minister Prakash Pant told News 18.
