MUMBAI: Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has added his voice to the mounting opposition over the Kerala Cricket Association's plans to host the India-West Indies one-day international on November 1 at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi, which is also home to the Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters FC, rather than in Thiruvananthapuram.

RABAT: Morocco will spend a total of $15.8 billion on stadiums and infrastructure if it wins its bid to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The chairperson of the bid committee Moulay Hafid Elalamy told Moroccan newswiire MAP that $3.2 billion from the total budget would be invested by the private sector.  Morocco is ranged against a joint bid from the US, Mexico and Canada.

NEW DELHI: The All India Tennis Association has given all private academies a July 1 deadline to register with the AITA if they want to be eligible to host age-group tournaments. The move, accepted by AITA executive committee, means that all unregistered academies will not be able to host tournaments.

KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday confirmed that Karachi will host the all three matches of the upcoming Pak-West Indies T-20 series. PCB chief Najam Sethi tweeted: “Good news! West Indies have agreed to play three T20 matches in Karachi on 1st, 2nd and 4th April. CM Sindh is fully supporting this PCB initiative.”

MUMBAI: The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and Rajasthan Royals signed a venue agreement on Wednesday for hosting the seven home games of the franchise in the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The pact was made in the presence of RCA President CP Joshi, Rajasthan Royals chairman Ranjeet Barthakur and Rajasthan Sports Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar.

Meanwhile, the final of the inaugural edition of the tournament, which was earlier to be played in Kochi, has been rescheduled from April 22 to April 25.

NEW DELHI: I-League outfit Chennai City FC claims it is set for a collaboration with a top European club primarily focusing on infrastructure development, owner Rohit Ramesh has said. Ramesh though, refused to divulge the name of the club, citing confidentiality clause.
